"The Night of Enchantment: A Haunting Tale of Black Cats and Mysterious Spells"
Our yard became the garden of black cats after the episode. They would come to her window at night screaming and meowing her name. Three weeks before she died, a strange man came once enchanting spells. He circled the house three times, walking back and forth around the house. The third time he circled the house, cousin Paye and Uncle Adolphus started to throw rocks at him. He paused, and he started to chant a spell at them. Paye, Adolphus, and I ran into the house and watched him through the window. As I stood there gazing at him through the front window with cousin Paye, he stood facing and speaking in a foreign tongue. After fifteen minutes, he left. When Sister Kou came home, we told her what happened. She never spoke a word, but I could see the fear in her eyes. She was screaming for help inside, but Mom and Dad were nowhere to help because Mother was three hours away; no telephone communication at that time. Father was about two miles but didn’t show up to check on us.
