"From Neglect to Triumph: A Scout's Journey of Growth and Friendship"

In one of the city’s neighborhoods, Al-Balsam Scout Troop was a safe haven for ambitious girls, gathering each week to learn skills, help others, and grow as individuals. Among the girls in the troop were Laila and Rana. Laila: Laila was the ideal scout in every way—organized, hardworking, and passionate about scouting. She never missed a day without reviewing her lessons or preparing for the weekly scout meeting. She wrote detailed reports, participated actively in workshops, and was always ready to volunteer. Rana: Rana was the opposite. Frequently absent, careless with her studies and scout duties, she saw scouting as mere fun, not a path to growth. She procrastinated and often relied on her teammates to do the work. Months passed, and the fruits of their choices began to show. Laila was chosen to participate in a national scout camp, where she impressed the leaders with her organization and leadership spirit. She received a prestigious academic scholarship and became a role model in the troop. Rana, on the other hand, was temporarily suspended due to repeated negligence and declining grades. Disappointed, she decided to reflect. She began asking Laila for help, and slowly regained her balance. At the end-of-year ceremony, the troop leader announced: “Today, we honor Laila for her excellence… and we also honor Rana—not for who she was, but for who she chose to become.” Laila smiled, gently patting Rana on the shoulder, and said: "What matters is that we're on the right path, even if we started late."
